Hello, first of all, sorry for my english, I'm Spanish.
My name is Raúl and I've registered myself recently. I work as a "systems developer", my work consists in creating microcontroller based pcb's with sensors, communicate them and show their data in a properly way, depending on the project. I compatibilize this job with a partial time teacher job in a spanish university. I teach automation: PLC's, SCADA, etc.
I've joined the forum because I need some knowledge about DCC decoders, DC motors management, etc. My purpose is to create a Bluetooth Low Energy decoder for gauges starting from HO and perhaps N. I want to explore the idea of controlling a locomotive using my mobile phone. Nowadays I'm working with BLE modules that can run programs itself so, It could be nice to understand what work is done in a microcontroller for DCC control: needed speed, memory, etc, etc.
On the other hand, I have experience on manufacturing pcb's. Now I'm working on a personal project that consists on two boards to opperate point motors. Those boards communicate through a CAN bus. One board has pushbuttons and leds and is intended to be installed on a panel and the other has the drivers to manage a total of 8 point motors (Peco PL10 or similar).
It would be nice to help each other and participate in some projects
