The kits are currently supplied with stripboard and there are several reasons for this which I will detail:-
1. Cost - Stripboard is cheaper than a PCB in the quantities involved.
2. Size - A PCB would not result in a smaller mobile decoder using standard sized components.
3. No specialised components - Anyone can make up a kit from locally sourced parts without any need to make a special PCB.
4. Easily modified - It is easy to make changes to the circuit especially for one offs or to fit in awkward spaces.
That said, if some of the kits were supplied with PCB instead of stripboard, would you be more likely to buy one?

Good question but I'm happy with the stripboard. A "proper pcb" would be nice but would inevitably put the price up and that would not be a good thing.
Your 4th point is also vital, stripboard is infinitely adaptable to fit tight spaces.

Stripboard gets my vote as well.

I would prefer a PCB over stripboard myself. Also a design with SMD parts would be cool.
