This would seem a good place for suggestions for the website. Physically challenging suggestions may take a little time to implement

It would be nice if ... ... there was a link from this forum back to your dccdiy.org.uk website.

Good idea Judi.
I wonder if it is possible?

I could not find a way to simply add a link, so I have changed the way the link works on DCCDIY so that it will open a new tab or window depending on individual browser settings.
I hope people find that convenient.
I have a couple of other ideas but I need to look into them.

Opening the forum in a new window/tab is much appreciated and pretty much fixes the problem of getting back to the site. Have you looked at MERG's website and forum (assuming you have access)? I don't know how the forum software works but they manage a pretty seamless environment between the public website and members' forum and other pages.

MERG maintain their own forum while we do ours on the cheap and use an external host. That may change though if the forum takes off..

Can you not install something like PHPbb on your server? I could fairly easily on mine, you just need a MySQL database (Plus it is free if you are able to install it.)

It's years since I ran a BB, but I shall have a look. Thanks for the suggestion.
