Hi Paul, Sorry for the intrusion.
Following on from the last motor decoder problem thread I also had the same issues. I built the motor decoder and programmed the latest firmware into the pic 12f629 without issue. Using a MERG programmer I can modify the CV,s and confirm there values when I look at the eeprom addresses. Using a dual trace scope I can confirm correct waveforms on pins 6 and 7.
When I try to run the motor I get no activity on either of the motor (l272) drive pins from the pic even though i get acknowledge pulses to the motor when in service mode.
I can only conclude that the firmware has been broken since its last update as so many other users have had good results before 2013.
I used the firmware published on the internet.
Regards,
Gary Charlton

Hi Gary
Are you using 14, 27, or 28 speed steps? This firmware does not support 126 speedstep mode.

Hi Paul, Many thanks for your help. My command station was set to 128 step by default. After setting to 28 step I can now measure Pwm pulses on pins 3 and 4,5 of the pic.
Thanks again
Gary
