Hi all,
Would it be possible to change the code for the decoders to allow the use of forward and reverse states for each individual Function Key. thus being similar to the ESU style decoders.
This would make wiring much more simple for complex lighting arangements.
Thanks Paul

I would like to do it in the way that Zimo do it by switching the mapping using CV61, but there is not really enough code space without leaving out some of the other features.
You can have a play yourself at changing the code if you like, it is just a case of splitting down the function activation code block and replicating the F0 code blocks which treat F0f and F0r as seperate functions. The real big issue is deciding which CVs to use to map the functions because there is no alternative NMRA mapping - you will have to invent something non-standard yourself or follow a manufacturer's mapping.
The wiring for directional control is quite straightforward if you use the low power output decoder with LEDs as you can see from the application examples, and you get the added advantage of 'parking lights' with the tail lights showing at both ends when you switch of F0 and the possibility of switching head and tail lights on and off individually while retaining simple directional control - ideal for day/night headlights and headcodes.
