Hi all,
I have recently built a few of these decoders in both low and high power versions, (some mixed), and was pleasantly surprised at how well they work. I have found the bi-polar outputs on the low power version to be particularly useful.
My query stems from the fact that I seem to have two different versions of firmware. One came from the download zip and the other one came from a link somewhere in this forum, (which I don't seem to be able to find again now).
The file name of both of them is "629mf.hex" but they contain different code. Reading CV7 gives "2" in both cases.
When programmed, the last few words of program memory read as follows:- 00000003F8 3AFF 18BA 3AFF 1903 2BF6 2BE9 3FFF 3458 on the zip file version and 00000003F8 2BE4 18BA 3AFF 1903 2BF6 2BE9 3FFF 3458 on the other. (Yes, I know the last byte is the OSCAL value and so may vary between devices.)
Can I safely assume that the version from the zip file is 2.18 and the other is 2.19?
While I'm here does anyone know if the enhanced version firmware is still available for sale. I'd like to try it but the sales email address seems to go unanswered.

The best place to check is in the IDLOCS where you will see 0B 02 01 09 where the B indicates function decoder and the 219 is the version 2.19. If your programmer does not do IDLOCS you can look in the .hex file (with notepad or similar) where you will see the line that starts :0840...... which contains the IDLOCS information
It looks like you have correctly identified the versions.
The enhanced firmware is still available. I think that sales e-mails are still going astray so it is worth trying diydecodersales@hotmail.com instead.
