I am using a Lenz command station, low power 8 function decoder, powering LED's and a 5.5V 1F stay alive cap fitted. If I disconnect track power stay alive cap cuts in, re-connect track power decoder functions as it should. If I use emergency stop also no problems. If I shut down track power through the command station, when I turn power back on all decoder outputs go live and the decoder will no function. The only way to reset the decoder is to switch off power let the stay alive cap discharge then power back up. Is the any work around for this ??

I will have a look at this. It looks like the decoder reset packet that the Lenz command station sends out is doing something. Do you know which firmware version you have?

I was after the firmware version of the decoder if you have that, I guess that your Lenz is 3.5

I am thinking that this is quirk of having DC mode enabled and a slow command station startup, try disabling DC mode with CV29=2 or similar and see if that helps. I suspect that the lock-up state is the decoder switching to DC mode, and the only way to return it to DCC mode is to power it off, and this only happens when the capacitor goes flat.
